**Kylix Attic Black-Figure Lip Cup - Digital Reconstruction**
Visit the [ANU Classics Museum](https://slll.cass.anu.edu.au/classics-museum/catalogue/objects/attic-black-figure-lip-cup-196515) website to learn more about this beautiful kylix!
The 3D model is done as part of one of my assessments for a digital humanities course this semester. One thing that I'm very fond of about this particular kylix is the "meaningless inscription." The museum curator explained to me that the it's possible the sculptor was illiterate. But they wanted to add some sort of inscription that simulates the alphabet, hence the little dabs of paint on the sides underneath the animal figures.
The modeling for the base mesh and UV unwrapping were done using Autodesk Maya 2020. Then I used Marmoset Toolbag 3 to bake the Ambient Occlusion (AO) map. The base maps were created using Adobe Photoshop from photo references and then further textured in Substance Painter.
