Asset Overview

This reconstruction of an Anglo Saxon belt buckle was made in Zbrush based on images of the buckle displayed at the British Museum in London. I recreated the complex pattern of inter weaving snakes using Procreate on the ipad (see image below) - closely following the original pattern. I created custom brushes to speed up this process - but this still took about half of the overall time I spent on this model. I used these images as alphas in Zbrush to create displacement in the geometry. Textures were added in Substance Painter. I have included a file for 3d printing - select 'additional file' at download. For more information on the original buckle which dates back to the 7th century CE - click this link https://www.bl.uk/collection-items/sutton-hoo-belt-buckle Non commercial use only ![](https://i.imgur.com/81XtxUO.jpg)
