Beetle Whaleboat - 19th Century - Nantucket

The whaleboat has a long evolution to its eventual near perfect shape. Not just a big rowingboat, but a tool with various vital features of hunting and capturing the biggest game on earth. Hunting whales was no easy task, and no less dangerous. So the better your tools the bigger chance of success. A crew of six would man a boat like this, chasing after the whale with sail or oars, one man throwing the harpoon into the prey. Afterwhich a violent struggle started, the men in the boat holding on to the ropes being pulled along, until the whale tired and could be killed. Model has PBR textures included, as well as Unity and Unreal ready texture sets. The movable parts (rudder, centerboard etc) are rigged so the boat can be posed easily.
