Asset Overview
This is a displaced and decimated model of Earth made from the most recent and accurate heightmaps and albedo maps I could attain. The land layer has full ocean displacement as well with a separate water and cloud layer. Ideally this is designed to use realtime masking on the emissive lights. I used a process of projection and UVs that results in no distortion at the poles or long vertical seam typical on most spherical objects. Files included: Decimated Earth model with 4 LOD levels from 196,604 faces to 3068 faces; Earth Water model with 4 LODs; Earth Cloud model; Earth Glow model; 8K albedo 8 bit dithered jpg; 8K normal 16 bit png in OpenGL and DirectX
