At 1915, during Japanese rule, Shi Kun-Shan (施坤山), the largest timber merchant in Taiwan, bought the house and repaired it. Now the residence is the only existing [Sanheyuan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanheyuan) in the Tamsui Old Street area. Due to disputes on road and land development, the repair of the residence has not yet started since 2012. in the model is the front of the house.
