Asset Overview
Many businesses had been forced to temporarily close because of the CoViD-19 pandemic, and covered their windows with plywood. These plywood panels became canvases for artists, as well as protesters in the Black Lives Matter Movement. The subtle and beautiful murals hiding in the shade of the trees along the front of this building were particularly striking. As we photographed it, we discovered the alley and decided to document the existing layers of markings to show a contrast in technique and intent between these and the plywood murals on the front of the building. This commercial space is located at 455 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA.
