Asset Overview
The altarpiece of the Virgen del Cepo, dated 1514, is located inside the cathedral of Sigüenza (Spain). It is a Renaissance work made of alabaster and financed by D. Fadrique de Portugal (Bishop of Sigüenza 1512-1532), whose coat of arms can be seen in the lower part of the altarpiece. In the center of the altarpiece stands a sculpture of the Madonna and Child, which stands out for the tenderness shown between mother and son.
