Asset Overview

Taken with Mavic 2 pro and processed with Pix4D. The tower is iconic on the hedaland at Bude near Summerleaze beach. IT is said to have been built as refuge for coast guards. However, the more likely reason for its construction was for for its ornamental value. Designed by George Wightwick for Sir Thomas Acland, the octagonal tower was based, loosely, on the Temple of the Winds in Athens. Now it is at risk because of coastal erosion.
