"The beautiful mosaic floor of the central nave unfolds as a precious oriental carpet, from door to the staircase leading to the presbytery. No church or Romanesque basilica has a more refined floor and most valuable of this, not so much for the extension of the mosaic texture, and disappeared all the portion of the "chorus", but also because "unique" for design and colors. Another peculiarity, then, that characterizes the Cathedral of Sessa Aurunca and that makes it unique is undoubtedly the floor in opus alexandrinum coeval with the construction of the building, but rather it is a fundamental element for its iconographic and iconological dimension in the authentic reading flows from its theological themes. "
