 It is one of the most important Ibero-Roman sites in Spain. The acropolis was initially populated by Celts around the 4th century BCE, the Celtic city was destroyed about the 3rd century BCE and rebuilt by indigenous Iberians. The city stretched beyond the preserved acropolis with a commercial neighborhood. The population was romanized although it maintained its Iberian character. The second destruction of the population was in the Roman Civil Wars, in the year 75 or 76 BCE --- Se trata de uno de los yacimientos ibero-romanos más importantes de España. La acrópolis fue inicialmente poblada por celtas hacia el siglo IV ANE, la ciudad celta fue destruida sobre el siglo III ANE y reconstruida por indígenas íberos. La ciudad se extendía más allá de la acrópolis conservada con un barrio comercial. . La población se fue romanizando aunque mantuvo su carácter ibérico. La segunda destrucción de la población fue en las guerras Civiles Romanas, en el año 75 o 76 ANE.
