Asset Overview

A carpet tile layout design for a library, featuring Belgotex Equinox Light and Dark Grey, Berberpoint Charcoal, Balsan L480 Blue 190, and Origami Blue 120 carpet tile products. These products are supplied into New Zealand by Irvine Flooring. The floor's design was inspired by Maori Poutama Tukutuku panels symbolising genealogies and also the various levels of learning and intellectual achievement. The library's city location is coastal and the greater area was historically a site of a Maori settlement. The poutama design also acts as a pathway leading in from the entrance of the library, to draw people into the heritage room which is enclosed in a separate space. This design also plays on the coastal location, symbolising the transition between the blue ocean and the sandy grey beach. This model was created for a client presentation and was created with Sketchup Pro and Photoshop CC.
