This palace belonged to a textile bussinismman of the city of Alcoy (Spain) called Enrique García Peidro, whose nickname was **"Escaló" (Step)**. The building was designed by the architect Vicente Pascual Pastor in 1906 and finished in 1908. It is a clear example of Valencian Art Nouveau architecture of the early twentieth century.
