Asset Overview

Photogrammetry capture of a disused cab/taxi shelter on Chelsea Embankment near the junction with Albert Bridge, London. There have been several cab shelters here, this one dating from the 1990s(?). The previous one was destroyed when accidentally hit by a lorry. It is sometimes known by the nickname 'The Kremlin'. The shelter felt out of use due to the lack of parking for taxi drivers nearby. The shelter is in the process of being restored by the Cabmen's Shelter Fund who are looking for funds for urgent repairs and to ensure its survival. The chimney/vent on the roof is currently missing and it has no mains sewage connection. Waste water previously was emptied into an external water butt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabmen%27s_Shelter_Fund Access kindly supplied by Mark Brown of the Cabmen's Shelter Fund. 1090 photos taken in March 2021 with a Sony a6000 and processed in Reality Capture.
