So we needed a new standard sword, but halway through concepting the sword, I took the tip of the blade and shortened it to look like a sort of combat-spade. Some people have called it a shovel, But I found more practical reasons for such an oddly shaped dagger. Wide faced blade can be used as a shield to defend and block more efficiently than a regular dagger. The heightwork in the middle of the blade was heavily inspired by catholic architecture, and I figured would look interesting on a weapon. I will be incorporting architecture into my weapons more because of this experimentation.
