Final assignment for the 3D1 course at Digital Arts and Entertainment @howest Kortrijk, Belgium
kinda fell in love with this little place - i'd like to live there
learning how to work with maya has been a real pleasure, i was a bit sceptical at first since i started my 3d journey in fusion 360 and blender, maya felt very different and getting to a point of workflow proficiency where i started to really enjoy working took longer than expected. But after spending the past months slowly putting this together, i've grown increasingly fond of the software :)
everything done in maya / grass and seaweed were made in maya and put in place using weighted hair particle systems in blender.
(sandra & karl, if you're grading this; sorry for using a particle system for placing the grass, my goal from the beginning was to create a scene as realistic as possible while staying under 30k faces / 20 mb, placing the foliage by hand broke that sense of realism for me personally, so i pulled a cheeky blender move)
