Asset Overview
Section of the East frieze of the Parthenon, composed of blocks E III, IV, and V. Located at the British Museum in London. Blocks I and VIII are also located at the British Museum, while blocks II and VI are in the Acropolis, and block VII in the Louvre. This frieze depicts the procession of the Panathenaia. This procession took place at the climax of the Great Panathenaia, considered the most important of all Athenian festivals. Held every four years, it celebrated and honored Athena, the patron diety and guardian of the city.
This is my attempt at a classic. Many people have already produced fantastic models of this particular frieze, but it was just too cool a model to pass up! This is part of a series I did studying walls of the British Museum.
