AGENCY IMPACT: the planter design elaborates findings from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) architecture program. In a project let by Brandon Clifford, students investigated principles applied to ancient megalithic construction. Curved geometry reduces ground contact, allowing a small number of workers to move heavy objects with simple tools.
The design of this 400 liter tree planter uses the same principle to make it easier to move with fewer people. The design provides lift points for loader forks and to insert carting wheels. A locking plate underneath the planter allows permanent fixing with a minimal site footprint.
