Fireplace Mantle, Santa Fiora, Tuscany

A Renaissance fireplace in the administration building of Santa Fiora, Grosseto, Tuscany. The piece, dating to the 16th c. shows at the center of the architrave the arms of Dukes Sforza: inscribed in a ring with the diamond, a lion is sculpted holding an apple. An inscription in large carved letters reads 'casa Sforza e la ventura han fatte queste mura' (tr. 'House Sforza and good luck built these walls'). Model was created in Reality Capture using 993 photographs. The Mt. Amiata Project is an ongoing GDH collaboration involving faculty and students at the University of Florence and the University of Siena.
