Heritage in conflict zones

The study area is one of the most vibrant and crowded areas in Beirut, it includes the Al-Awza’i and Basta Street, which are considered to be among the most important and oldest commercial streets in the capital. In addition to Muhammad Al-Hout Street and Omar Bin Al-Khattab Street, which are considered two distinctly residential streets. Moreover, Bechara El Khoury Street is considered one of the most important streets in Beirut leading to the city center, in addition to the Bechara El Khoury Square, which forms an important link and traffic intersection between a number of different streets and regions.
