Asset Overview

Medieval horse shoe carving on the keystone of a door arch on Via Tallassese in Arcidosso, Grosseto, Tuscany. This symbol marked the shop of a Medieval ferrier. It is very interesting that the keystone has the shape of an hammer, this particular kind of arch called "hammer arch" or "T arch" was used on Mount Amiata from around the later half of 13th century and before 1300. [source: M. De Falco, 2004-2005, ref. AVT21, usm 9] Model was created in Reality Capture using 22 photographs. The Mt. Amiata Project is an ongoing GDH collaboration involving faculty and students at the University of Florence and the University of Siena. We could not have done this project without the considerable support of the Municipality of Arcidosso.
