Asset Overview
The fountain was donated in 1904 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Karl Lueger, mayor of Vienna. The name of the fountain is reminiscent of the 1610 canonized count Charles Borromeo, cardinal and archbishop of Milan and namesake of Karl Lueger. Josef Engelhart started with the help of Jože Plečnik to build this fountain on October 24, 1904. The fountain, made of marble and bronze, was revealed on May 25, 1909.
