Asset Overview

Lynally monastery, County Offaly founded here in the 6th century by Colmán Eala who died in 611 AD. 17th-century armorial plaque of Thomas Coffey inserted into the eastern face of the western wall of Lynally church ruins (OF016-031001-). The inscription on the plaque reads 'This monument was made for Thomas Coffy, clearke, and his deare wife Anne Hide and their posteritie Anno Dom 1684'.
