Asset Overview

A beautifully carved early renaissance lintel on a house door near the San Niccolo church in Arcidosso, Grosseto, Tuscany. It was the house of Pietro Amati, a sculptor from Arcidosso who died in 1639, the lintel shows in the center a possible Christologic monogram IHS or, alternately, the crest of a noble family. The piece is reused in its present position and was walled upside-down as shown by the orientation of the decoration. [source: S. Nanni, s.d.] Model was created in Reality Capture using 157 photographs. The Mt. Amiata Project is an ongoing GDH collaboration involving faculty and students at the University of Florence and the University of Siena. We could not have done this project without the considerable support of the Municipality of Arcidosso.
