Asset Overview
This is a medieval watch tower, and to be more precise, a medieval "beffroi". These towers were commonly erected in France by free towns as a symbol of the city power. For this model I took inspiration from the watchtower of the city of Lucheux, in Picardie (North of France), that was built above an ancient medieval gate of the town, hence its very uncommon arch at the ground floor. This said, this model is not, in any way, an accurate reproduction of the original Lucheux watch tower.
The model was originally sculpted, reopoed, UVed and painted in 3D-Coat.
The model here has downscaled textures, but the original ones (8 4K sets and 2 2K sets) are available as a separate compressed archive for close-up renders. These sets are composed of four textures with traditionnal PBR files : diffuse/roughness/metallic/normalmap. I converted them to .jpg for memory optimization, except which I kept in .png to retain the alpha channel for the windows.
