Asset Overview

At Terrace Park in Sioux Falls, SD, are a pair of Japanese inspired pagodas built into the side of the hill rising east above Covell Lake. They are part of the historic Japanese Gardens, which was designed by Joseph Maddox and built by the WPA from 1928-1932. The gardens have had a rise, fall, and rise again over the intervening decades. They were vandalized at the start of WWII and fell into decline as resources were diverted. They became overgrown and were neglected. Starting in the 1960s repairs were carried out but the gardens were not fully replanted until the 1980s-1990s. They are a cherished part of the city park system today. This model is of the northern pagoda, created from 4K video shot on an iPhone XS Max and processed through PhotoCatch. The exported DAE was trimmed down in Meshlab. There are multiple mistakes in the model but that is my fault for being in a hurry and not getting adequate coverage above the pagoda. I will try to model it better in the future.
