Asset Overview

The pulpit of the Epistle or pulpit of Mendoza located in the cathedral of Sigüenza (Spain), dates from the end of the 15th century. It was carved in alabaster by master Gaspar (under a previous design by Rodrigo Alemán), during the bishopric of D. Pedro González de Mendoza (1467-1495), as the two heraldic coat of arms of the bishop carved in the pulpit remind us. From the iconographic point of view we also find carved images of the Madonna and Child, Saint Helena and Saint George. 3D model made in Reality Capture using 2503 images with additional processing completed in Geomagic Wrap. This work is part of the collaboration agreement signed in 2020 between Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha and Global Digital Heritage. We want to thank the Bishopric of Sigüenza-Guadalajara and the cathedral chapter, especially D. Jesús de las Heras, D. Miguel Ángel Ortega and D. Julián García, for the facilities and for the interest they have shown in the project.
