Asset Overview

Rotunda in honor of the 800th anniversary of Moscow The rotunda was installed on the personal order of Joseph Stalin, and the author of the project was the former chief architect of Moscow (he held this position from 1945 to 1949) Dmitry Chechulin. The white-stone gazebo was decorated with six bas-reliefs. Outside the rotunda, you can see stories about the Foundation of Moscow by Yuri Dolgoruky and the construction of the Kremlin, the battle of Kulikovo and the liberation of the city from Polish invaders in 1612, as well as the victory in the Patriotic war of 1812. The bas-reliefs inside the rotunda depict the events of the December 1905 uprising and the October revolution of 1917, the civil war and the heroic defense of Moscow at the beginning of the great Patriotic war, and the Victory Parade. The rotunda dome is decorated with the image of the order of Victory.
