On the crest of a hill on the western edge of Mount Pleasant Cemetery is this mausoleum. It was one of the first things that caught my eye back in the early 1990s when I moved to Sioux Falls and visited cemeteries.
I don't know anything about it aside from the name and date. It is built from the local Sioux Quartzite stone and granite.
Mount Pleasant is the oldest existing cememtery in Sioux Falls. It has gone through good and bad times. It is being cared for but older monuments and structures are beginning to show their ages.
