Asset Overview

An almost complete example of a Midlands Purpleware drinking vessel or jug dated to the sixteenth century. The rim of this appears to have been deliberately removed suggesting it was refashioned for an additional purpose later in its life. It was likely to have been produced in Wednesbury, Staffordshire or Chilvers Coton, Warwickshire. More information at: www.searchingforshakespeare.co.uk
