This is one of the models I produce to raise awareness about the neoclassical buildings of my hometown, Syros island. There are people asking for measures to be taken to prevent the neoclasical buildings from collapsing and monuments to be protected. Also the goverment needs to ease the processes for obtaining rennovation licenses. Syros was a great industrial and commercial island throughout 18th and 19th century with neoclassical architecture and a medieval settlement. Stunning buildings are now left in their own fate as the goverment takes nearly four years to give a license for a rennovation of a neoclassical building, depends on which part of the island the structure is located and how the area is characterised. Lots of investors have turned their back after struggling to get the permition to do any works in the buildings and there is also a huge concern over public safety since the island has experienced sudden collapses of buildings.
