Asset Overview
Apple Daily (Chinese: 蘋果日報) was a newspaper published in Hong Kong from 1995 to 2021. Founded by Jimmy Lai, it was one of the best-selling Chinese language newspapers in Hong Kong.
The newspaper ceased to operate after the Hong Kong police's national security unit arrested company executives on 17 June 2021 for allegedly violating the national security law and froze the assets of the company and Jimmy Lai. As a result, Apple Daily had to cease operations. The final print edition published on 24 June 2021.
