The Noisy Commute

This model looks to study the Qualitative and Quantitative noise experience during my daily commute to work. I chose to focus on noise as I find this to be the most intense, and often overwhelming sense and that it would be a good way to gauge my emotional experience during my commute. There are 2 models, 1 x Qualitative and 1 x Quantitative, which have been overlaid on top of each other so that I could identify irregularities between my qualitative and quantitative experiences. I could study these irregularities further to understand why what I felt was different to what was captured. For the Qualitative model I mapped my perceived noise experience throughout a commute, I marked out points along my route when I felt that the noise was overwhelming or it was peaceful, see attached image showing my perceived noise mapping. For the Quantitative model I was recording the same commute on my phone and used the sound levels from the recording as the data. See second image showing the recording data
