Asset Overview
The dolmen is located under Mezetsu cliffs (Phabguchel group of monuments), Mezetsu range, Tuapse region, Caucasus, Russia, Middle Bronze Age (4000-2000 BC), Dolmen Culture of Caucasus.
The stone tomb is placed on the stone cairn with remains of retaining wall. Sepulcher chamber is carved out of large block of stone. Trapezoidal in shape chamber is roofed with a stone slab. This construction imitate plan and elements of the plinth type of stone slabs. The distinctive element of this version is its access hole placed on side wall. The largest wall of that construction is the side of false portal with an imitation access hole produced by a protruding knob of stone. Another unique element is the nice carved shelf on three walls of this chamber.
Корытообразный дольмен расположен на хребте Мезецу, Туапсинский район.
Особенности: внутри камеры вытесан паз для сооружения полки, на стороне ложного фасада сохранился элемент неясного назначения, курган, вероятно, был укреплен крепидой.
