Asset Overview

This is an updated version of my original model. Alterations include extending the spear to foot level, painting fingers over the spear, smoothing the background, extending the toes slightly, and making the ground line less even. The model was created first in Agrisoft Metashape by Betsey Robinson. It was then transferred into Zbrush as an .obj file. The face was reconstructed using the face of the rider from block II of the West Frieze, and the left foot was duplicated over to replace the right foot, which was missing. The colors for the marshal were taken from a fourth century BCE Macedonian tomb demonstrating polychromy in Agios Athanasios. The spear was painted on, as indicated the Acropolis Museum indicates, and was loosely based on depictions of hoplite spears on a terracotta volute-krater from 450 B.C.
