Asset Overview
Recreation of shield from 1335-1375. Made of wood, leather, gesso, and iron. By the mid-14th century, shields had become considerably smaller than the large "teardrop-kite" shields of the previous centuries. With the development of plate armor and its protection over the entire body, shields such as this began to fall out of use in warfare, but were still used in tournament settings.
