Asset Overview

This is a 3D model of an ancient Greek Corinthian helmet in the British Museum. The bronze helmet is dated to roughly 650-570 BCE. Upon the helmet is an inscription in Greek “ΟΛΥΜΠ” translating as “OLYMP.” The object designation of “Corinthian” means that it resembles the helmets seen on Corinthian vase paintings. This helmet type is associated with hoplite warriors and the phalanx formation. This style warfare is associated with Corinth, Athens, and Sparta--meaning the helmet’s name does bear some accuracy regardless of where it was produced. **Bibliography** [British Museum](https://bit.ly/39VdIMB) #Ancient World 3D This model posting is part of Ancient World 3D, a project that provides curated 3D open access content for Classical Studies.
