Architectural decorative element
This is a hemispherical piece (resembling a dome) with the surface decorated with seven protruding ribs. The lateral sides feature stylized water birds. The base has a border of 2 centimeters. Artefacts of this kind have been found on Dealul Grădiştii (Sarmizegetusa Regia), inside the sacred area and near the fortification (e.g. in the emplecton). It is believed that they served a decorative purpose (probably for some buildings within the sanctuary).
