**Agfa Movex 88
8 mm movie camera**
The Movex 8 for 145 RM was released in 1937 as the first 8 mm device from Agfa . It weighed 750 g and only worked at the standard speed of 16 frames / s, driven by a spring mechanism, as was customary at the time.
The designation 88 on the Movex 88 from 1956 should indicate a double-8 camera, i.e. a 16 mm film was exposed first on one side and then, after swapping the coils, on the other. Since the Movex cassette did not catch on, Agfa had to switch to this common, but less practical, package with open reels.
