Asset Overview

* Origin: Germany * Producer: Friemann & Wolf * Height: 33 cm * Diameter: 11cm This lamp was called as the engine driver/train lamp. It came to the Netherlands around 1960. With an acid / alkaline battery, it can work around 10 to 12 hours after charging. The specialty of this lamp resides in its importance in communication on the underground. The yellow glass cover on the top signifies that it functions as a light beacon for drivers of the underground trains or for transportation by monorail. When the lamp works, it blinks and emits a signal informing the presence of traffic. By doing so, it avoids the potential danger and protects the miners’ safety on the underground. Created by Dou
