Ancient ruin site on Khabur (Euphrates) River. Some have proposed this to be a possible location for the Tower of Babel as recorded in the Book of Genesis in the Bible. The remains of the main square structure is about 125 feet tall, and 650 feet long on each side, with the immediate surrounding tell at about 40 acres in area. GIS survey reveals a larger surrounding settlement city, now mostly under surrounding agricultural fields.
