High on a hill South of Livermore California are these blue oaks. The climate is too warm to establish new oaks of this variety in places that are this dry now. The companion oaks with this one are drying and dying fast..... Hills like this were places to watch to see who is coming and going. This is along a trail that connects with Mission San Jose that follows the contours. People have been here for more than 10,000 years and game trails have been here long before that.
