Asset Overview

Andreas Zelinka Monument in the City Park of Vienna. A bronze round pillar decorated with inscription cartouches, putti and festoons rises from a stone base. On top of it is the bust of Andreas Zelinka. The monument, dating from 1877, was designed by Franz Pönninger. Andreas Zelinka (1802-1868) was mayor of Vienna from 1861 to 1868. During his term of office, the First Vienna Mountain Spring Pipeline, the Danube regulation and the Vienna Central Cemetery were planned. He spent his entire annual salary on alms and donations. He was affectionately called "Papa Zelinka" by the population.
