Perched stop a column in Kenwyn church, above Truro, Cornwall, UK, is this medieval carving of an angel. There are perhaps traces of the letter 'M' on its shield suggesting that this is a depiction of St Matthew the Apostle, one of the Four Evangelists. It is likely that this carving was made in the 14th century.
