Asset Overview
A scenic model for a past production of the musical ***Assassins***, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by John Weidman. Scenography by Mark Reaney, directed by Ronald A. Willis.
The dark revue presents a set of historical figures who did (or attempted to) assassinate U.S. presidents, and explores what their existence in American history says about the ideals of their life and country. As well as reflecting popular music from the depicted eras, the score also draws inspiration from "patriotic" American music traditions.
