Carved wood with light brown patina in the form of a horizontal pangolin/ ant eater standing on flat base with 4 holes for attachment to basketry cap, rising from middle of back is the neck of an antelope covered with animal leather and a larger antelope head with upward curving horns, incised diamond shapes & indigenous white & red cotton threads for ornament attachment. Comes from the Republic of Mali
