"A powerful expression of both tradition and innovation, this beaded yoke dress and accessories were designed in Adobe Illustrator by Jodi Archambault and produced with family and friends using Lakota regalia-making techniques. The dress was meant to be worn in powwow dance competitions—specifically, the Northern Traditional Dance—community celebrations that affirm Native sovereignty and identity through creative expression. Featuring approximately fifteen pounds of beads, the outfit comes to life during the dance, among the songs, voices, drumming, and gathering of family and community."
