Bower of the HMS Vigo (1810)/ Buganker HMS Vigo

The Bower of the HMS Vigo was found and lifted by the German Hydrographic Office (BSH). It is currently undergoing conservation in the Phantechnikum in Wismar, where it will be put on display. The anchor was recorded by students of the University of Rostock as a training exercise. HMS Vigo was a 74 gun 3rd rate ship of the line of the Vengeur class built in Rochester in 1810. The anchor must have been lost when the ship was on convoy duty in the Baltic in 1811. Buganker der HMS Vigo. Der Anker wurde durch das BSH gefunden und als Schiffahrtshindernis gehoben. Der Anker waurde an das Phantechnikum in Wismar übergeben, wo er konserviert werden soll. Die Dokumentation erfolgte durch Studenten der Universität Rostock. HMS Vigo ein ein 74 Kanonen Linienschiff 3. Ranges, welches im Jahr 1810 in Rochester gebaut wurde. Der Anker ging vermutlich bei einer Konvoifahrt nach Schweden im Jahr 1811 verloren.
