The upper half is two sheets of bronze joined by flat-headed rivets and a rolled rim neck. The handles are lozenge-sectioned circular rings within ribbed staples riveted to the neck. Repoussé decoration forms horizontal bands of low bosses on the shoulder with filled pendant triangles below. This sort of decoration is known on continental buckets of the last millennium BC but is rarely found on Irish-British metalwork.
