Asset Overview

The panel is an outcrop of rock lying in rough pasture on the gently sloping hillside of Glenvoidean. It lies among a small amount of gorse and scrub roughly 100m to the W of a chambered cairn. An overhead power line passes about 40m to the N of the panel and there are a number of other cupmarked rocks/stones in the vicinity. There are views WSW across the West Kyle towards Kames and further south towards Ardlamont Point and Inchmarnock. Glenvoidean is accessible via a rough track from the turning circle at Glecknabae, about 2.5 km to the S. Photographed by Patrick O'Sullivan, Bute Museum, Rock Art Bute team, ScRAP
