The *cinquedea* was a type of short sword popular with wealthy Italians in the 15th century. The name meaning "five fingers" refers to blade, whitch was five finrers wide at the hilt. Twe srord lengh varied from 10 in (25 cm) to 28 in (71 cm) snd carried in scabbard over the buttocks.
